Tapeworm Dewormer (praziquantel tablets) for cats* may be given directly in the mouth or crumbled and mixed with food.

• Cats and kittens 4 pounds and under: ½ tablet
• Cats 5-11 pounds: 1 tablet
• Cats over 11 pounds: 1 ½ tablets

*Not intended for use in kittens under 6 weeks of age. FASTING IS NEITHER NECESSARY NOR RECOMMENDED.

Tapeworm segments look like grains of white rice and are easily seen stuck in your cat’s hair, under their tail, by their back legs, or in their poop. The best way to identify a problem is through an exam performed by a veterinarian.

How Often Should I Deworm My Cat?

One treatment with the recommended tablet dose is an effective way to remove common tapeworms. Steps should be taken to control fleas and rodents on the premises in order to prevent reinfection; otherwise, your cat might require another round of deworming.
